Future State Reading Order

Future State is a “possible future” spawned from the aftermath of Dark Knights: Death Metal. It is a huge crossover storyline centred mostly around the Justice League. It is a relatively simple series to follow with trades covering all of the issues – this makes the issue by issue collection expensive and possibly pointless.

There are 52 issues in total which brings back New 52 vibes.

Fans of individual characters as opposed to all of DC’s creations can dip in with whatever they want and still enjoy it. For those who are looking to get the complete story to make better sense of the other storylines which come before and after, getting them all is a joy.

Future State Trade Reading Order

Future State: The Next Batman

A decent sized book and great for the Batman fans.

Collects Future State: The Next Batman #1-#4; Future State: Dark Detective #1-#3; Future State: Nightwing #1-#2.

Future State: Justice League

Fans of the Flash and Green Lantern, see here. They don’t get their own book.

Collects Future State: Justice League #1-#2, Future State: The Flash: Death Race #1-#2, and Future State: Green Lantern #1-#2.

Future State: Superman

You can tell that Superman/Batman are they key players, which makes sense. These books are all in mixed in order in the issue by issue reading order so bare that in mind.

Future State Batman: Dark Detective

As above, Batman is a key focal point of Future State. The included issues are also in mixed order in the full timeline. For example, Batman/Superman comes first.

Future State: Suicide Squad

Misleading book as Suicide Squad are only a small part of the book. Should have been called Future State Tie-Ins.
